I found this on the UFC website. I love the food that some of these “elite athletes” eat. Some are good times, some are unhealthy and some are just plain entertaining.

Drinking protein shakes can help with weight loss. A diet High in Protien, low in fat is always a great idea when seeking weight loss.
1 Servings
Calories: 245, Fat: 7g, Carbs: 16, Fiber: 2g, Protein: 23, Sugars: 10
Ingredients:
■1/2 cup water
■1/4 cup skim milk
■2 tsp natural peanut butter
■2 no-calorie sweetener (i prefer stevia) packets
■1 scoop of Chocolate Protein powder
■5-8 ices cubes or 1 cup crushed ice
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend at high speed for 1 minute. Pour into a large glass and enjoy your healthy high protein shake!

This is a really easy 3 step program to determine your Daily Caloric Needs. It is called “THE HARRIS BENEDICT EQUATION.”
The formula calculates to determine basal energy requirements (to maintain current weight without exercise to survive). After completed then you can determine what you need to intake for WEIGHT LOSS.
STEP 1
Women:
655 + (4.35 X WEIGHT IN POUNDS) + (4.7 X HEIGHT IN INCHES) – (4.7 X AGE IN YEARS)
Men:
66 + (6.23 X WEIHT IN POUNDS) + (12.7 X HEIGHT IN INCHES) – (6.8 X AGE IN YEARS)
STEP 2
Now take your number from step 1 and multiply it by the level listed below:
Step 3
The number that you now have will tell you your calorie needs for weight maintenance.
FOR WEIGHT LOSS
- subtract 500 calories per day from your number in step 2
FOR WEIGHT MAINTENANCE
- Just use the number from Step 2
FOR WEIGHT GAIN
- add 250 to 300 calories per day from step number 2
ALSO WHEN TO EAT
- Meals should be had every few hours, for example.
1. Breakfast time
2. Mid Morning snack
3. Lunch time
4. Afternoon Snack
5. Dinner

No Carbs Before Bed
To slip into stage 3 or 4 sleep, you need to have a high level of ghrelin before bedtime.
Carbohydrates depress ghrelin faster than any other nutrient, so eating anything, especially carbs, before bed can delay your entry into stages 3 or 4 for several hours.
So what does this mean? Well if you don’t get enough restful sleep, you’re likely to be hungrier and then you will eat more. This is why research has shown that on average people who aren’t getting restful sleep tend to be heavier.
So to help you sleep well and deeply, let the hormones do their thing and don’t eat after 9 p.m. especially no carbs!
