Life Teachings From Noah’s Ark

1. Don’t miss the boat.
2. Remember that we are all on he same boat.
3. Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.
4. Stay fit, when you’re 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
5. Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
6. Build your future on high ground.
7. For safety’s sake, travel in pairs.
8. Speed isn’t always an advantage. The sails were on board with the cheetas.
9. When you’re stressed, float a while.
10. Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs, the Titanic by professionals.
11. No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting.
12. Bring a raincoat…

I couldnt have said it better:

“It’s not as if I hadn’t trusted recently, but when I have to put my trust in others, that trust has always been broken. There have been disappointments, lies, and unfaithfulness. There have been times in my friendships and romantic relationships when my intelligence was underestimated. My capacity to endure emotional pain has been greatly tested, repeatedly. What I have learned about myself is that often I have been extremely trusting and loving toward those who never deserved it. This in turn has led to my own heartache. I want to learn to trust others again, but first I have to learn to trust myself enough to know who is worthy of such trust, love, and loyalty-and who is not. I am always left confused and broken hearted when someone in my life proves untrustworthy.”

Life is just ridiculous sometimes…

Im scared for tomorrow…why? I cant really tell you but I will pray that it will be ok.

I read this today and it somehow reminded me of my own life.

“Though I keep in touch with my girlfriends from high school, there is space between us. There is a difference in lifestyle and life choices. Some of my friends had very few goals and sought only to get married and have children. This plan often goes astray and is a poor substitute for education and personal life goals that do not depend on the well being and earning ability of another. No woman should have to count on a guy to support her. Some of my friends are successful in their own right but aren’t living the lives they once dreamed of, either socially or professionally, and seem to have enormous voids in their existence. I know, everyone’s life is different and we all evolve on different levels and at varying times in our lives, so it is not my place or right to judge another’s performance in life. But because of our social and economic differences, our conversations are usually one-sided, with me doing most of the talking and having all the eventful accounts, both personal and professional. I often wonder if they are as excited about their lives as they are about my life.”

I don’t regret much. There is one thing that I regret deeply but I cant change it. I only hope that the one person I truly care about will understand my awful decisions in the past and that tomorrow will not bring me sadness.

These Words Speak My Life

These Words Speak My Life…
Odd that its Put on Me by none other than Swollen Members

Yeah

(Chorus) (Everlast)
Cool as a summer breeze
Drifting on memory
She got me on my knee
But darlin’ I’m begging, please
And if there’s a winter storm
And I’m there to keep you warm
In whatever shape or form
Baby girl gotta put me on

(Mad Child)
It’s been ten years runnin’ and you still look stunnin’
One in a million, Diamond, you’re beautiful with brilliance
Still it’s not enough, even though we’re inseparable
We need to take a break but that don’t mean that I’ll let you go
Tears become streams, we got the same dreams
What’s with all the competition, Ma? We on the same team
Angel, sometimes I don’t show it on the surface
But, your face is unreplacable, it’s perfect, you’re worth it
I’m not always there emotionally, even though you’re close to me
I got work to do, that’s how its supposed to be
And I ain’t into choppin’ it up
I’ll switch your top but don’t trip, got you a brand new whip
And took you shoppin’, it’s cool
Just do your thing while I work on this music shit
If we don’t end up back together, though Imma lose it, kid
I gotta spit viscously and throw bolts of thunder
For now be a stranger, but don’t change your number.

(CHORUS) (Everlast)
Cool as a summer breeze
Drifting on memory
She got me on my knee
But darlin’ I’m begging, please
And if there’s a winter storm
And I’m there to keep you warm
In whatever shape or form
Baby girl gotta put me on

Hey

(Everlast)
She’s a hot one, ain’t no one illa
Butter pecan and French vanilla
Shit, I’m speakin’- it’s true word for realla’
Baby girl be like a stone killa’
She call me Pop and sometimes it’s daddy
She lookin’ proper, never look ratty
Her waste is small, her booty’s real fatty
Might let her hold the keys to my caddy

(Prevail)
Of all the beautiful women that I’ve met in this world
Why’s it such a challenge trying to find the right girl?
I’ve dated actresses, models, strippers, intellectuals
Four months max, like Maxim, it’s all sexual.
Incredible, I’ve been to more than twenty countries
Got dirty, ugly with hunnies that were lovely.
But trust me, I’m a Scorpio
That’s how it has to be
Till I’m chillin’ with children and a house
I’m fast and free

(Moka Only)
Lookin’ back through all the Springs that passed
The Summer time fun with no strings attached
I’ll never find love and these flings don’t last
Will there ever be a queen for this king to match?
Till then, I’ll be…

(Chorus)x2 (Everlast)
Cool as a summer breeze
Drifting on memory
She got me on my knee
But darlin’ I’m begging, please
And if there’s a winter storm
And I’m there to keep you warm
In whatever shape or form
Baby girl gotta put me on

Baby girl put me on…

THINK BIG

Statements of the think big revolution by Micheal Port

I have read Micheal Ports book, The think big manifesto and I wanted to share some of his insights with you.

Statement of Core
I will identify what I stand for through a concerted process of self questioning and exploration to discover my core, the what that is so me.

I will make public what I stand for.

I will hold myself visibly accountable each day to its letter and spirit.

Statement of Independence
I will be comfortable with who I am right now and know that I am good enough.

I will use my innate talents and gifts to do big things in the world.

I will not give up in the face of others fear or disbelief.

Statement of Collaboration
I will be a person others want to work with.

I will work with others without hidden or selfish intent to accomplish our mutual goals in the service of what each of us stands for.

Statement of Discomfort
I will not seek control.

I will make visible my purpose in its service, and risks to fulfill my commitments.

Statement of Promises
I will be an authentic person, one whom others can rely on.

I will make hard promises that push me to the best of my capacity.

I will not try to fulfill. I will.

Statement of Submission
I am here to learn.

I will deliverately seek out wise and true teachers and submit to the authority of the constraints they create in the service of our goals.

Statement of Integrity
I will be congruent in private and in public, in purpose and in action.

I will act in the spirit, ligt, and service of what I stand for.

Statement of Work
I AM A WARRIOR.

I will train to be strong psychologically, intellectually, and physically so that I may have the fortitude to do big things I am capable of.

Statement of Fun
I will embrace chaos and joy.

I will let go of the false notion of control and laugh at the inevitable absurdity of existence, mine above all.

Statement of Now
I will be now. I am now.

I will not wait for the other in the false security of excuses and procrastination.

I will do now.

Impossible Is Nothing

We do what we have to today so that we may do what we want tomorrow.

Everyone Needs To Read This

Ferris, Tim. The Four Hour Work Week (2007), Pg 283-284

“If you’re confused about life, you’re not alone. There are almost seven billion of us. This isn’t a problem, of course, once you realize that life is neither a problem to be solved nor a game to be won.

If you are too intent on making the pieces of a nonexistent puzzle fit, you miss out on all the real fun. The heaviness of success-chasing can be replaced with a serendipitous lightness when you recognize that the only rules and limits are those we set for ourselves.

So be bold and don’t worry about what people think. They don’t do it that often anyway.”

Pareto and 80/20

Who was Pareto? PARETO

So in a nut shell…Vilfred Pareto was an as Italian sociologist, economist and philosopher. He is well known for his works involving what is known as Pareto Distribution. This law of distribution can be used to explain a variety of things in our world.

Best known as the 80/20 rule…Pareto discovered that about 20% of the population controls 80% of the wealth. However, this distribution is not just limited to describing wealth but it can be used to describe a multitude of situations. It can be used to describe things such as relationships, friends, customers, athletes etc…80% of the points come from 20% of the teams….80% of advice comes from 20% of your friends…80% of your results comes from 20% of your diet or 20% of certain activities….

If you really look carefully at your life you can factor out that 80% of useless stuff and focus on the 20% for better results, better work results, better relationships and for better living. I think that this is such an interesting law….and I am going to begin to factor in where it all fits into my life so I can eliminate that unecessary 80% and have better results and productivity…maybe you should try it…find the important 20% in whatever it is that you are doing or involved in and think about eliminating that 80%.
